Terms of Service

The agreement, in plain words.

Last updated: July 14, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Mentallywhen you use our website or app. We've kept the legalese to a minimum, but this is still a binding agreement — by creating an account or using the platform, you're accepting it.

What Mentally is — and isn't

Mentally is a platform that helps people find vetted mental health professionals, read what they write, and book sessions with them. The care itself happens between you and your professional — we provide the connection, not the treatment.

Two things we need you to understand clearly:

  • Mentally is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services right away. Our crisis support page lists numbers you can call.
  • Published content is education, not advice. Articles and wisdom posts are written to inform, not to diagnose or treat. They're no substitute for working directly with a professional who knows your situation.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 to use Mentally. Keep your login details to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, change your password and tell us straight away.

If you're a professional on Mentally

Patients trust what your profile says, so you're responsible for keeping it true:

  • Your credentials, licensure, specialty, and experience must be accurate and current.
  • Your pricing and availability must reflect what you actually offer — no surprises at booking time.
  • Anything you publish must be your own work (or properly credited) and consistent with your professional and ethical obligations.
  • Session notes you write on the platform are yours and remain private to you, but you're responsible for using them in line with the clinical standards that apply to your practice.

We can suspend or remove profiles that misrepresent credentials or put patients at risk. We'd rather work things out with you first, but patient safety comes before everything else.

If you're booking care

When you book a session, you're making a commitment to a real person's time. Payment terms, cancellation windows, and session format are shown before you confirm. If something goes wrong with a booking or payment, contact us and we'll help sort it out.

Content and ownership

Professionals own the content they publish here. By publishing on Mentally, they give us permission to display and promote it on the platform. The Mentally name, design, and software are ours. Reviews you write must reflect your genuine experience.

What you can't do

  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent qualifications.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other people on the platform.
  • Scrape, copy, or resell platform data or content.
  • Attempt to access data that isn't yours, or probe the platform's security (if you find a vulnerability, we genuinely want to hear about it — see our security page).

Liability

We work hard to keep Mentallyreliable and accurate, but we provide the platform "as is." We're not liable for the clinical care professionals provide, for content they publish, or for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

Ending things

You can close your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms — where it's fair to do so, we'll warn you first. Sections that by their nature should survive (like liability and content ownership) continue after the account closes.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to these terms, we'll update the date above and notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Mentally after that means you accept the updated terms.

Questions

Anything unclear? Email support@mentally.health— we'd rather explain something twice than have you agree to something you didn't understand.
